Sport and Leisure in the UAE

Many people around the world have different point view in sport and leisure, human race have to maintain their health and strength to live healthy and happy that can be contained throw in different ways such as how do they live and what they do in leisure and sport.

Sport and leisure can reflect life style for both of cultures and individual, so as United Arab Emirates have witness great development in less than 50 years and that mean there are some people who witness the difference in sport and leisure in that time period for sure some people seeing this development in sport and leisure are good and some not.

The best way to know the changes that happen in the UAE is to interview a person that has witness that changes, so I have decided to interview my uncle who is around 50 years old his name is Ahmed Murshed Alromaithi and he known the changes in this 50 years.

I asked my uncle how did they maintain their health at the past and what kind of sport and what did they do in leisure his answer was, that there were two kind of local who lived in desert and who lived near the sea both of them had different ways he said such as people who used to live in desert they used to spend time by hunting with falcons ( falconer ), horses (Equestrian ) and camels was the most important since it can be used for travel and milk also in their leisure they use it for racing. And for sport to maintain their health was not necessary since they used to walk a lot and just to get water and that mean they always stay fit.

For other people who lived near the sea in their leisure time they used to go fishing by many ways, fishing had many purposes such as for fun, food resource and materials. Also they used to race using boat made from wood and they had fun, for sport they had many type of games that can be played with groups such as (Find the Rock), this game was to get a rock and mark it and it will be thrown in the sea and who find it first is winner. But now days a lot have change more sport have introduced to the UAE such as soccer, fitness, boxing, and more and for leisure now days used in wrong way for some of people such as playing online games for more than 10 hrs a day!!.

Reflection

Few weeks ago me and my group decided to go to ALAIN Equestrian and Golf club. Most people in the UAE know nothing about this club; also we have chosen this club since its so huge and to join this club is cheap and cost mostly nothing and few peaple in the UAE who knows about it. Me and my group decided to collect the information by making interviews with the people in the club. We chose this way because ALAIN club has more than one team such as the shooting and golf and more. Before starting the interviews with club members and heads we contacted the marketing manger and her name is Rita. She helped us to make interviews with the shooting club, Rugby, Golf and Equestrian and I noticed that each club has its own facilities. When we interviewed Saif Alshamsi who is the head of shooting club and UAE champion that was the time I realized that the UAE is joining the world cup for shooting. Also shooting club have been the host for shooting world cup last year. Also when we went to rugby club we noticed that there are a few locals in the team which means also locals are interested in this game. When we went to the Golf club and that was the first time for me to see the golf course in real and we noticed that the golf club in ALAIN has few members and i think that's mean people are not interested or didn't know about the gold club, the last interview was Equestrian which took around two hours waiting for the head and when finally he decided to make the interview i noticed that he didn't know English and that was a problem so i couldn't make the interview for Equestrian. This club has more than forty nationality members and each nationality respects each other; also they all have something in common which is they play the sport which they like. In this case study we divided the task between the group which was four member each student took the task that had skill for to make the case study more professional. Ahmed contacted the club and made the interviews, Ali made the questions that should be asked; Mohammed had his camera and me I did the editing. So the outcome of the effort that we did was acceptable since it was organized before going to ALAIN, but if i had the chance to redo the study case I will be able to improve it since my group learned from their mistakes and also me. Our mistakes was that a few questions should not be asked; also the camera was so bad and cheap which led the video to be hard to be seen even with editing.
